New showrooms, lines and seminars highlight the San Francisco Winter Show

Design professionals and furniture and gift retailers will find innovative lines at the San Francisco Mart during next week’s Winter Home Furnishings Show, Feb. 17-20. The show again is being held in cooperation with the San Francisco Intl. Gift Fair at Moscone Center.

Nationally recognized home decor, gift and decorative accessory leader Pacific Rim has opened a 6,500-square-foot showroom on the premier first floor at the San Francisco Mart, in space 105.

Another SF Mart newcomer, Transitional Designs, has opened a multiline showroom in space 133 that features furniture and accessories from AICO, Barrows, Butler Specialty, Chelsea House, Heather Brooke, J.D. Young & Sons, Kasmir Fabrics, Maitland-Smith, Merrimac Textiles, Pulaski, Robert Allen, Transitional Designs Upholstery and more.

Decima Island Design is new in space 578. The company imports home accents and occasional furniture with Indonesian and Asian character.

Existing showrooms also are bringing in new lines. Long-time tenant Kessler has just completed a remodel of its showroom in space 190. Gail Belz, showroom manager, has added three new lines: DalMarko Designs, Global Accents and Padma’s Plantation.

Direct Designs Home, a contemporary resource on the Mart’ fifth floor, has brought in five new modern lines: DIA, Howard Elliot, Oggeti, Robert Abbey Lighting and Surya.

JNA Trading in showroom 239 has added Zuo Modern.

Augmenting these permanent additions are new products in the Design Collection, a showcase of temporary exhibitors in the first floor lobby. Design Collection exhibitors are Art Talks, Back to the Picture, Bradley Brand Furniture, Goldwood Furniture, Kaaya Home, Lizz Greer Artisan Textiles, Micaela Gallery, Nouveau Accents, Super Troupe Kini Kini du Benin and The Ugly American.

Attendees also can attend five outstanding educational seminars: “Managing the Collision of the Generations” and “Fifteen Things You Can Do Now That Will Pay Off Big Later,” both presented by Barbara Wold, an author, marketing consultant and internationally known speaker; “Make it Big Through the Media” and “Build Your Business on a Budget,” both presented by Laurel Tielis, a public relations consultant; and a panel discussion, “Reaching Gay Consumers,” moderated by Gay.com and sponsored by PlanetOut.com.
