Furniture designer Larry Laslo was named as a Design Icon by The World Market Center Las Vegas in honor of his highly regarded interior design work.
Laslo has become famous for his “liveable contemporary” style, which he’s used in one-of-a-kind residential design projects throughout the company, as well as in commercial design projects, such as the Takashimaya flagship store and Bergdorf Goodman, both in New York.
“It’s fun to play with fashion,” Laslo said his talk to a crowd at the World Market Center in Las Vegas. “It used to be that home furnishings followed on the heels of fashion, but now they are neck in neck.”
Robert Maricich, President and CEO of the World Market Center, praised Laslo for his unique body of work. “We realize that your best work is being done right now and will be done in the future,” Maricich said.
Laslo is the second person to be named a Design Icon by the World Market Center. At the January Las Vegas Market, Vladimir Kagan was named a Design Icon for his contemporary furniture design.
